8th Grade Volunteers

12/15/15   The 8th grade class spent their day helping St. Vincent dePaul put together food and toy baskets for their annual Christmas donations to the needy in our area.  It was a humbling experience to help so many families in our area have a blessed Christmas season.

The Season of Advent

Parents,
Below is a copy of what the school does for the season of Advent during Convocation.  Do you have an Advent wreath in your home?  Ask your child to help you light the candle and lead the song or prayer for your family!    (A verse is added each week of Advent.  ie. Week 1 of Advent is verse 1 of "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel" and verse 1 of "Light the Advent Candle."  Week 2 would be verse 1 & 2 of each song, etc.)

Winter Weather

Parents,
Now that the cooler weather is upon us and a chance of snow will be in the forcast until spring, just a few reminders on school closures/delays.
  • If Escanaba Public Schools close, HNCS is closed.
  • The quickest way to know if school is closed is to sign up for the principal’s remind text/email messages.  The instructions are on the school web site.  A hard copy is available in the office if you would like one, and the information is also on a previous post on our blog for the "Remind 101" service.
  • If there is a two hour delay, there is no half day programming (no morning Little Lambs, half day preschool or half day readiness).  Full day programming will start at 10:40 instead of 8:40.
  • Lunch will be served.
Any questions please let any middle school teacher know, or contact the office.

Thanks!
