"My Michigan Hero" Essay Winners

Farm Bureau Insurance sponsored the annual "My Michigan Hero" essay contest.  All 8th grade students across Michigan are eligible, and the 1st place classroom winner from each school is entered into the state wide finals.  Congratulations to our 8th grade essay writers and winners!

Austrian Olympic Luge Coach Visit

Holy Name was honored to have the Austrian Olympic Luge Coach visit today and explain the sport to grades 5-8.  Veronika Halder is a two-time Olympic athlete, and coached the Austrian team to three medals in the recent Winter Olympics in South Korea! She explained more about the sport, and the USA National Coach Keith Whitman even gave demonstrations of the equipment.  Each student was given a pass for one free luge down Lucy Hill at the USA National training site in Negaunee, MI.   For more information, go to www.upluge.org
